The old staging area
I'm still surprised that I could get over 175 feet of track into a room 7ft by 11ft. This has all been removed to
make my workshop area larger I wanted to have storage for up to 8 trains, or possibly 10 if I didn't leave an
open track for running through. I had planned on having trains circulate in sequence, 4 or 5 in each direction.
With two sections of single track main, manual control was necessary for traffic control. I was intending to
have automatic control, for hands off running, but never got that far. I had the track power controls wired and
functional, but hadn't installed the switch machines. Other than manually operating the turnouts, the staging
area was functional.
